Spring weddings are often outdoors and always unpredictable. The forecast is a rumour, and the ceremony is usually earlier in the day than the dancing ends.
Lighter colour, real cloth
Spring invites lighter colour: soft blues, greens, pinks and creams, in a fabric with enough body to hang well. Light colour in a flimsy cloth is the one combination to avoid.
Plan for the evening
Evening will be colder than the afternoon. Bring a layer you are happy to wear all day, a light coat, a wrap or a fine knit, and avoid white, cream and ivory as the main colour.
Shoes for grass and gravel
Outdoor spring venues mean soft ground. A block heel, a flat in a good leather or a dressy shoe you can walk in will carry the day better than anything delicate.
