Business casual means polished but softer than a suit: a collared shirt, tailored trousers or a knit, and no tie needed.
Business casual means polished but softer than a suit: a collared shirt, tailored trousers or a knit, and no tie needed.
Business casual is the everyday office code, the one companies mean when they say dress smart but comfortable. It is a suit with the tie gone, a jacket with chinos, or a knit with tailored trousers.
For men: a collared shirt or fine knit, chinos, loafers or clean leather shoes, with an optional blazer. For women: a blouse or knit, tailored trousers or a smart skirt, a dress, and polished shoes or clean sneakers.
It differs from smart casual by leaning a little more professional and a little plainer, and from business formal by dropping the suit and the tie. Denim is usually out, or at most dark and unripped. Nothing should look like weekend wear.
The lever · Add a structured layer, a blazer or a cardigan, over a plain shirt; it turns ordinary pieces into office dress.
